Personal History

Joseph was searching deeply in God’s Word, especially in the Book of Romans, Chapter 8

Known for his growing faith, his authenticity, inquiring mind, thoughtfulness, passion, kindness, and good looks, Joseph’s memory will forever be cherished by those whose lives he touched. He is survived by his siblings Elizabeth, Benjamin, and Gabrielle and his loving parents, Sahl and Sara. At age 17, Joseph lived a life that leaves a legacy of authenticity and triumph.

At Age Seventeen, Recently Baptized,

What Was Joseph Thinking About?

Joseph was searching deeply in God’s Word, especially in the Book of Romans, Chapter 8. Here are some of the verses he highlighted and underlined for special reflection in the days before he died. What a blessing for us to have this window into the depths of his search for God and his preparation for glory.*

Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.”  Romans 8:16

"And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering.” Romans 8:23

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

“And having chosen them, he called them to come to him.” Romans 8:30

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love?” Romans 8:35

No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ who loved us. Romans 8:37 (A suggestion)

“And I am convinced that nothing can separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow-not even the power of hell can separate us from the love of God.” Romans 8:38
